On December 13, 2024, the time had come… after reaching operational readiness, production in the hot strip mill started with the new cooling water treatment plant.
Together with plant manufacturer PSE Engineering GmbH, Kern Industrie Automation GmbH has been working intensively over the past few months to prepare for this moment. The focus for KERN was on the turnkey planning of the entire electrical and automation system, including assembly. At the heart of the new plant is a highly available PCS7 process control system.
The view of the misty clouds of the new cooling towers in the Duisburg evening sky is a source of pride for the entire team.
