ThyssenKrupp Rasselstein GmbH operates the finishing line 10 for tinplate at the Andernach plant. Previously, this plant was supplied from a 110VDC ring network. To increase availability, KERN Industrie Automation has installed a new 110VDC supply unit including a battery buffer and an extended distribution cabinet.
The previous 110VDC factory ring was also integrated as an emergency power supply. The supply can now be monitored in detail thanks to the connection to the plant’s HMI system.
This makes it possible to switch all power distribution systems such as 20KV switchgear and the NSHV system on and off independently.
This conversion is a further step in the commissioned modernization of the entire system.
